Maria McAneny

Attacking midfielder Maria McAneny is an academy graduate who spent the 2021/22 on loan at Hearts.

After excelling during her time in Edinburgh she was nominated for the inaugural PFA Scotland’s Women's Young Player of the Year.

She returned to Celtic FC Women for the 2022/23 season, featuring in the opening 9-0 SWPL win over Hibs.

In the summer of 2023, McAneny put pen to paper on her first professional contract with the Hoops, before going on to start in the Scottish Cu triumph over Rangers at Hampden Park.

Being deployed in several areas in defence and midfield, the young prospect offers Elena Sadiku's side plenty of options across the pitch.
