Ange Postecoglou
Appointed in June 2021, Ange Postecoglou enters Paradise with a wealth of experience and an admirable trophy haul – including the A-League Premiership title with Brisbane Roar, the Asian Cup with the Australia national team, and the J1 League championship with Yokohama F. Marinos.
"The opportunity that has been given to me is one of the greatest honours in football"
Best known for playing attacking, open and progressive football, the Australian’s individual accolades are equally impressive, having clinched the A-League’s PFA Manager of the Year in 2010/11, the PFA Manager of the decade in 2015, and the AFC Coach of the Year also in 2015, among other personal nods during a managerial career which spans over two decades.
With Ange Postecoglou at the helm, Brisbane Roar recorded a 36-game unbeaten run during their league title-winning campaign of 2011/12 – the longest undefeated streak in Australian sporting history – while Yokohama’s J. League championship triumph of 2019 was their first in 15 years.
At his unveiling as the new Celtic FC manager, he described his move to Paradise as: “The opportunity that has been given to me is one of the greatest honours in football and the responsibility to lead our magnificent football club into the future is one that I will cherish dearly.”
