Young Irishman, Johnny Kenny has joined the Hoops during the 2022 January transfer window.

The 18 year-old striker signed from League of Ireland Premier Division side, Sligo Rovers on a five-year deal.

Johnny spent 6 years at Rovers breaking into the first-team during the 2021 season.

In an impressive debut year with his hometown club Johnny scored freely in all competitions, he found the back of the net 12 times during his debut season, including one in the Europa League against Icelandic side, FH Hafnarfjordur.

The striker returned to the club in January 2025 and made his senior competitive debut in a 4-1 victory over Ross County on 11 January. After he came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute in Dingwall, replacing Adam Idah, he set up the final goal of the game for Luke McCowan.

Johnny has been capped for the Republic of Ireland at under-19 level, making a scoring debut against Montenegro in November, 2021.
