Jahmai Simpson-Pusey
Highly-rated central defender Jahmai Simpson-Pusey joined Celtic on a season-long loan from Manchester City during the 2025 summer transfer window. The 19-year-old English talent arrived at Paradise to wear the No. 4 jersey, further bolstering Brendan Rodgers' defensive options.
Simpson-Pusey joins the Scottish Champions with an impressive pedigree from Manchester City's esteemed academy. In 2024, he captained their Under-18s side to a triumphant FA Youth Cup final victory, showcasing his leadership qualities from a young age. His progression continued rapidly, as he then skippered the Under-21s to an incredible fourth consecutive Premier League 2 title during the 2024/25 season.
His outstanding performances were further recognised when he made history by becoming the first defender ever to be named Premier League 2 Player of the Season, cementing his status as one of English football's most promising young prospects.
After an impressive appearance for Manchester City against the Hoops during the 2024 US tour, Simpson-Pusey was given his debut by Pep Guardiola in October 2024, stepping off the bench as a second-half substitute in City's EFL Cup tie away at Tottenham Hotspur.
Six days later, he was given his first start and UEFA Champions League debut against Sporting CP and in the November, he made his first Premier League appearance, starting in the away fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion.
