Dane Murray
Having first joined the club as a six-year-old, Dane Murray now finds himself as a fully-fledged member of Brendan Rodgers’ first-team squad.
The promising young defender signed his first professional contract in June 2019, continuing his development as part of the club’s Academy.
After spending some time training as part of the first-team, Murray made his senior debut in UEFA Champions League qualifying against FC Midtjylland as an 18-year-old.
The 2021/22 season seen Murray regularly named in UEFA Europa League squads, whilst also earning minutes with the B Team.
Following a promising season, the defender ultimately suffered an unfortunate set back, sustaining two serious knee injuries.
The 2024/25 season marked a hugely important year for Murray, who began to earn regular minutes on the pitch once more after a number of injury setbacks.
Spending time in pre-season with Brendan Rodgers’ first-team squad, the next step for the centre-back was to go out on loan to Scottish Championship side Queen’s Park.
After a positive six-months with the second-tier side, Murray was recalled from his loan, and featured as part of the Celtic squad, which included appearances on the domestic and European stage.
In August of 2025, his signed a new deal with the club, which would see him remain with the Hoops until the summer of 2028.
That moment would mark an almost perfect weekend for the Academy graduate, who on the same day as signing a new contract, would score his first senior goal for Celtic, heading the ball home in a 4-1 Premier Sports Cup victory over Falkirk.
