Benjamin Nygren

The Hoops welcomed the first new face of the 2025 summer window at the start of June 2025 as Benjamin Nygren arrived at Celtic Park, signing five-year deal in Glasgow.

Although he arrived at Celtic at 23-years-old, he already has plenty of senior experience, with almost 200 appearances to his name before his Hoops debut.

His initial breakthrough came at hometown team, IFK Göteborg, who he joined as a 12-year-old, before going on to make his senior debut at just 17.

Nygren’s impressive early performances soon caught the eye of Belgian side Genk, where he made an initial impression, scoring on his home debut for the club against K.V. Kortrijk.

A two-year loan spell in Holland soon followed with Heerenveen, before making a permanent move to Danish Superliga side FC Nordsjælland.

Making over 100 appearances in Denmark, the midfielder scored 35 goals, with a move to Celtic coming in 2025.

The Swedish internationalist has already made an impact for his nation too, scoring two goals in four appearances for his country.
