Having made her return to action at the weekend, it was another special evening for Shannon McGregor, who scored the winning goal in Celtic FC Women’s 1-0 win over Motherwell.

After missing the opening few games of the campaign through injury, the midfielder marked her return to competitive action last Sunday.

McGregor continued that return on Friday night, coming off the bench for her second appearance within a week in Kirkintilloch.

With Celtic chasing the game, it looked like it was going to be a frustrating evening for Grant Scott’s side.

However, it was McGregor who proved to be the match winner, scoring in stoppage time to seal three points for the Hoops.

Reflecting on the result and her goal after the match, the 26-year-old was delighted to make an impact on the game.

She said: “I'm buzzing to get on the score sheet. I came on and just tried to do what I could do and I'm just glad I got the goal to get us the three points.

‘It's important to keep going. We keep fighting and we're getting the three points.’

“The performances are still to improve, but I think the three points is the main thing and we managed to do that tonight.

“Moments like that, it brings us all together. I think you've seen that at the end. It always brings, especially a last-minute winner as well, it just brings us all together.

“Our squad depth is huge this season. We’ve got a lot of players and a lot of good players to come on.

"And I was just happy to come on the last 10 minutes or so and make an impact.”
