Celtic’s last four visits to Ibrox have been level after 90 minutes, including last season’s Scottish Cup penalty-shootout victory.

McGregor believes those results underline the fine margins involved and the importance of taking the few opportunities which arrive.

“You don’t get too many moments, so when they come, you have to take them,” he added. “It’s about managing the game, the atmosphere and the big moments.”

The captain has also been sharing his experience with Celtic’s newer players, including Mika Baur, while highlighting the calmness Martin O’Neill brings to the occasion.

“The manager has huge experience and has managed many big games,” McGregor said.

“He gives the players the confidence to carry out the game plan.”
