Celtic FC Women picked up a hard fought three points on Sunday afternoon, running out 3-2 winners against Partick Thistle.

Leading on three occasions, it took until the 83^rd minute for the Hoops to score the winner, making it four wins from four to start the season.

Following back-to-back home victories over Montrose and Hibernian, the Ghirls were back on the road this weekend.

But it was a familiar away venue, making the short trip to Petershill Park, where they had opened the season with a 2-1 win over Glasgow City.

On this occasion, it was Partick Thistle who welcomed Celtic, with Grant Scott’s side eyeing up another three points.

The Celtic boss made three changes to his side from last week’s 2-0 win over Hibs, with Fi Morgan returning to the starting line-up in place of Chloe Craig.

There were also first starts of the season for Maria McAneny and Casey Howe, who came in for Hannah Luke and Amy Gallacher.

The Hoops made the best possible start to proceedings at Petershill, opening the scoring just seven minutes into the game.

And it was another unbelievable strike from Izzy Fisher, who scored for the third match on the bounce.

With the ball falling into the path of the striker, she tried her luck with a looping volley, which landed in the bottom corner of the net to give Celtic the lead.

As the Celts looked to build themselves into the match, it took a bit of time, with Partick Thistle aiming to frustrate.

It was in fact the home side who would score the next goal in the game, with Imogen Longcake levelling up the scoring.

Getting to the byline, the Thistle forward produced a clever finish beyond Adelaide Gay to pull her side level in the match.

With the half coming to a close, Celtic looked to be going closer as they tried to get back in front.

Both Momo Nakao and Izzy Fisher tried their luck with efforts from range, but they were comfortable enough for the home side’s goalkeeper.

Scott made two changes at the break, introducing Lisa Robertson, and a debutant in Poppy Lawson, who came on to make her first competitive appearance for the club.

The changes looked to have had an impact, with Celtic going ahead once more less than ten minutes into the second half.

Hannah Jordan scored her first goal for the club, chasing down a loose pass back, before remaining composed to round the goalkeeper and slot home into the back of the net.

However, the home side would quickly strike back just three minutes later to make the game all square once more.

This time it was Sophie Townsley with the finish, who found the back of the net despite Adelaide Gay getting a hand to the ball.

As Celtic looked to go back in front, Jordan was unfortunate not to find the net for a second time, seeing a one-on-one well saved.

Maria McAneny also almost caused danger for the home side, flashing the ball across goal, with it being cleared before it could reach substitute, Amy Gallacher.

Celtic were made to wait but would find what would turn out to be the winner through Lisa Robertson.

The second half substitute headed home her first goal of the season, superbly meeting a corner into the box, to put the Hoops ahead for the third time in the match.

That goal would seal another important three points, with the Ghirls walking away with a 3-2 win at Petershill.

Next up for the Celts is a brief break for league duties, with Spartans to come at home in the Sky Sports Cup next Sunday.
