It has been a superb start to life at Celtic for summer signing, Camilo Durán, who picked up the August SPFL Player of the Month award earlier today.

After joining from Azerbaijan Premier League side, Qarabag FK, the forward has very much hit the ground running with six goals in his first seven competitive appearances.

That included another superb strike in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Aberdeen, with Durán kicking off September just as he had left the previous month.

And the 24-year-old is aiming to continue that form as the Bhoys make the visit to take on St Mirren on Saturday night.

Speaking to the media this afternoon, Durán reflected on picking up the Player of the Month award, expressing his delight.

The Colombian insisted that his team-mates and the rest of the staff have had a big part to play in his early season form, with Durán now eyeing up more goals as a Celtic player.

He said: “I’m really happy to win the award, especially having not been here for too long and happy to help my teammates.

‘I'm really happy to have the start that I've had, and I hope to continue performing this way.’

“I came here and my objectives were to win titles and to hopefully represent the Colombian national team, and if I keep performing the way I do, then I know I'll be closer to that.

“I don't have a number. I just take it day by day and game by game. But I know if I keep working the way I am, that many more goals are coming.

“They received me very well right from the start. We're good teammates, we help each other out. But not only the players, also the staff and the manager have really helped me.”
