After 11 Premiership games, and having played every other team once, Celtic find themselves four points clear at the top of the table.

Martin O’Neill’s side are four points better off than at this stage last season and have won nine out of their 11 games in the campaign.

Indeed, the only points dropped have been in two home games, and while Thursday night’s 2-2 draw with Dundee United saw the Champions maintain their Premiership lead, there was also a sense of frustration that it couldn’t have been extended.

However, reflecting on the game, Martin O’Neill said that in a game his side should have won, over the course of the campaign it could still prove to be a valuable point gained, given the team had to come from behind.

“It was a tough old game for us,” the Celtic manager told CelticPlayer. “I thought the second half performance was very strong and we had attack after attack. Yet, remarkably, they could have scored on a breakaway.

“It was a big, big second half for us and we deserved the equaliser at least. And I just thought we were going to come up trumps towards the end.

“The boys have given a lot in the game and they'll have to do the same again in a few days’ time.

“We're going to be playing against Falkirk who are up for the game themselves. So it's just resting up, doing a little bit of work, but not that much because the games have been coming thick and fast.”
