“We have a hectic programme just coming up now until the next international break.

"We will be going Sunday, Thursday, Sunday, Thursday, and even coming back after Benfica and having about 50 hours or maybe even less before we play our next game, but this is what you want to be involved in.”

In terms of the squad for this weekend, the manager explained that Jota could be involved at some stage after successfully coming through a recent bounce game against Falkirk.

Alistair Johnston and Callum Osmand are continuing on their path to full fitness, while Yang could be set to miss the match against Motherwell and Cameron Carter-Vickers will be assessed tomorrow.

And as for the game at Fir Park, the manager said of Motherwell, “I've never had an easy game ever there, and I don't see it being any different. Last season was obviously a great result for us to win the game.

“I'm pleased to see the international players back, the first time that we've done some work is today. So now we’ll get ourselves focused for the game. You hope it's a less dramatic victory than it was last time, but I will take the exact same scoreline again.”
