Celtic FC Women got back to winning ways on Sunday, defeating Spartans 4-0 in Kirkintilloch.

It was the ideal response from Grant Scott’s side, who head into the first international break of the season off the back of a positive result and performance.

The Celtic boss was pleased with his side’s display on Sunday afternoon, with the Ghirls producing a positive reaction to secure three points.

Speaking in the aftermath of that 4-0 win, Scott reflected on his team’s performance, and the squad’s state of play heading into the break.

He said: “We’re delighted to win the game. I actually thought we had a real good intensity about our work today.

“We changed the team quite a bit and I think you saw a real hunger from the players to show the right reaction.

‘But ultimately the win's the win and that's what we're after.’

“It just shows that there's a bit of resilience in the group. You know, it was a sore one last week.

“We know, particularly in the last half hour, that we let lots of things get away from us. But to bounce back and show that positive performance.

“I thought today, still probably a little bit wasteful in the final third area and probably didn't quite have the clear chances that our territory in possession might have given us.

“But I thought we took the goals, the opportunities when they came very well. Really positive response from everyone.”

“We're in a good spot," Scott continued. "The squad's fit and healthy. We're looking to play better in the games, as I've been saying for a number of games now.

“But I think we got closer to what we're after today. So, yeah, just more work. We'll keep the consistency of what we're doing and just hope that the players keep responding.”
