Liam Scales grabbed his third goal of the season this afternoon to give Celtic a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock in the last match before the international break.

The scoreline could have been even more convincing, with Kasper Høgh and Mika Baur both seeing goals ruled out over the course of the 90 minutes.

Nevertheless, the 1-0 win is a result which gets the Hoops back to winning ways domestically and, speaking to CelticPlayer after the match, Liam Scales stressed the importance of coming away from Celtic Park with three points.

“It was a good victory.” Scales said. “We kept a clean sheet, and maybe the performance levels weren’t quite where we want.

“We were a bit leggy maybe after Thursday night, and the most important thing is the result. It’s something we can build on."

Scales also reflected on his first-half goal which gave the Bhoys all three points, saying: “There was maybe a bit of luck I suppose. I was just trying to direct it towards goal.

“It looked like it took an age to come down, but I was delighted when it hit the back of the net!”
