Wednesday evening seen Celtic FC Women get back to winning ways as the Ghirls fought to secure three points in a 1-0 win over Hibernian.

Travelling to Edinburgh for their re-arranged fixture, it was a tightly contested match-up as the Hoops look to take away a win.

It took just one goal to separate the two sides, coming from Kelly Clark in the opening 45 minutes.

The goal was a superbly taken finish from the captain, who scored her first goal of the season in style with a back-heeled finish.

Speaking after the 1-0 win, Clark was delighted to score what ultimately proved to be the winner with her finish.

Although the Celtic captain admittedly believes the performance could have been better, she stated it was important to fight to get the three points over the line.

She said: “I do that in training all the time, actually. That's a daily at training. So as soon as it was coming in, I thought just flick it towards the goal, see what happens.

Sometimes it goes in, sometimes there's somebody else to tap it in, but delighted to get the goal for the team. It was really important and we held on after it.

“Look it’s three points. It was important to get three points. We fought hard. We're really happy with how we came together as a team and saw the result.

‘There's still a lot to work on. We're happy with the three points, but we'll still go away and analyse that. ‘

“We're not so happy with on the ball and control and that kind of thing. So lots to still work on but delighted with the three points.

“I think it's really important for the tough couple of weeks. Obviously, this game being cancelled and rearranged doesn't make life easy but delighted to get the three points.”
