33 days on from their Scottish Cup final success at Hampden, the Ghirls are set to return to Barrowfield for pre-season preparations!

With the start of the 2026/27 campaign now creeping up, the hard work begins once again for the Hoops.

Whilst it means the hard yards will be put in on the pitch, it is also an exciting part of the year as the squad is reunited.

And it is also an exciting part of the season for Grant Scott, who is looking forward to getting back down to work.

Ahead of greeting his squad back at Barrowfield on Friday, the Celtic FC Women Head Coach sees this as an important period in the season as he gears up for his first pre-season with the club.

“There's nothing better! I think it's a short gap we have in the year to take holidays and relax a little bit.

“But at the same time, it feels really long. You just want to get them in, get the new players in, get everyone settled and back to hard work.

“So a lot of planning and prep goes into the first few weeks and months of the pre-season and then into the start.

'It's just buzzing to see them back and hopefully everyone's back fit and ready and healthy and naturally relaxed over the last month.'

“I made a real strong point last year of not changing too many things when I arrived,” Scott continued.

“I think the team was in decent enough shape. Ultimately, we didn't really see through the performance level in the season, especially post-split, we were very disappointing.

“But yeah, for me, it gives me a chance now to kind of draw some lines. I've got five months of evidence that I can chat to the players about, set new parameters for them.

“We'll hopefully play a slightly different way. But I think the squad we've built, some of the players that I've worked with in the past that will come in, some new, some that I haven't worked with.

“Players I've had an eye on for a little while. It gives us a chance to kind of change things and grow things together rather than mid-season dramatic changes.

“So it's important that we make a new way for this women's team, but I'm very positive about it knowing what we've got coming in.”
