Celtic FC Women secured back-to-back home victories after running out 2-0 winners over Hibernian.

Late first-half goals from Chloe Craig and Izzy Fisher seal another three points for the Hoops on home soil.

Fresh off the back of an impressive 3-0 win in their first fixture at the Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex, the Ghirls were quickly back in home action.

This time, it was Hibernian who were the visitors as the Celts eyed up their third in on the bounce.

Heading into the game, Grant Scott made two changes to his team that would take on the Edinburgh side.

Both Chloe Craig and Chloe Arthur came into the side for their first starts of the campaign, replacing Fi Morgan and Lisa Robertson in the starting 11.

It was an even opening affair between the two side’s, with Celtic working to try and create their first opening.

Hibs looked to use their pace on the counter attack, but the Celtic backline appeared to make their intent.

The Celts were made to wait for their first real chances in the game, with Amy Gallacher and Hannah Jordan getting the first shots off around the half hour mark.

Both players couldn’t trouble the Hibs goalkeeper, but it was a sign of things to come as the half progressed.

Celtic appeared to be upping the ante, with Jordan picking up some clever spaces in behind the Hibernian backline.

The attacking midfielder did well to win Celtic a corner, which was almost headed goal bound by Chloe Arthur, before being blocked off.

As the first half approached the closing stages, the Hoops grabbed the crucial opener, with Chloe Craig taking advantage from a set piece.

After initially defending a free kick well, Hibs headed the ball only as far as Kelly Clark for a strike.

Her effort landed in the path of Craig, who turned the ball home with a clever finish into the back of the net, giving Celtic the lead.

It didn’t take much longer for the Celts to grab another goal before the break, with Izzy Fisher scoring her second goal in as many game.

Winning the ball back high up the pitch, the striker made no mistake with her finish, slotting it beyond the on-rushing goalkeeper.

It was the perfect end to the half for the Hoops, who found themselves 2-0 ahead going in at half time.

Those goals would have certainly changed Grant Scott’s half-time team talk, with the Celtic boss delighted to see his team two goals to the good.

The Celts came out firing in the second half, and thought they had a third, with Amy Gallacher smashing home a volley into the back of the net.

But the referee had already blown for a free-kick, with the away side finding themselves still two goals behind.

Hibs did show their threats in the second half, with Adelaide Gay being forced into a smart stop by Rachel Boyle, tipping the ball over the crossbar.

Former Celt Tiree Burchill also struck the outside of the post with an effort from range, which Gay appeared to have covered at her near post.

Celtic continued to push forward for what would be a decisive goal in the game, and Claire Walsh came close to scoring her first of the season.

Nodding down a header from a corner, the defender seen the ball go narrowly passed the post.

Ultimately, it was Celtic who would come away victors on Sunday afternoon, with two quick-fire goals at the end of the first half proving crucial.

That continued the Ghirls’ perfect start to the season, making it 3 wins from 3 as they get set for Partick Thistle at Petershill next Sunday.
