With the new season now very much upon us, there is plenty of new and fresh things to get excited about around Celtic FC Women.

Having kicked-off the new campaign with three points against Glasgow City, Grant Scott’s side started off the season in strong fashion.

During the 2-1 win there were also six competitive Celtic debuts, with supporters getting a glimpse of the new summer arrivals.

Of course, there were also some familiar faces back in competitive action for the Hoops after a busy pre-season, with Adelaide Gay being one of those, continuing between the sticks and putting in another strong showing.

And now that the 2026/27 campaign is underway, the goalkeeper is excited for what is ahead.

That starts with a first home match of the season, this Sunday against Montrose as the Ghirls get set to kick things off at a new home, the Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex.

After seeing the backing of the Celtic support last weekend at Petershill, Adelaide Gay is now looking forward to playing on home soil as she praised the support of the Hoops fan base.

Speaking about the new home, she said: “Yeah, I'm excited to see the new pitch, to be honest. I haven't been there, I've never played there before.

“So I know we'll get to play on it this week, which is nice. And I've heard good things, so I'm excited.

“And obviously, we had a lot of fans at the Glasgow City game, so it's always good to see our fans and have a home game.

‘You could really feel their support at Petershill last weekend.’

“You could just feel the excitement and the noise. And after the game, their excitement with the win, I think, was really fun as well."
