With the 2026/27 campaign underway, Celtic FC Women kicked off the season in ideal fashion, running out 2-1 winners over Glasgow City.

Grant Scott’s side were back in competitive action last weekend, travelling to Petershill for their opening game of the season.

And it started off with an impressive three points secured as the Hoops came from behind to seal the win.

Having now picked up their first three points of the season, Grant Scott is hopeful his side can build upon that performance and result.

Particularly given that the Ghirls kick-off what is the start of a new era on Sunday, with their first match at a new home against Montrose.

Celtic FC Women will be playing their first home fixture at Kirkintilloch Community Sports Complex, looking to continue their strong start to the season.

And speaking to CelticPlayer, Scott is also hopeful they can build upon that heading to Kirkintilloch.

The Celtic boss praised the support of the Celtic fans, not only in their league opener, but also throughout pre-season as he spoke about the importance of that backing.

He said: “It was really interesting to hear the new players at the weekend, hearing the backing that we got.

“The fans have been terrific following us everywhere, all corners of England in the pre-season and there's been a few recognised faces there over and over.

‘I hope they make the trip up to the new venue, support us.’

“The most important thing is backing these players that are starting to give as much as they can for the jersey.

“And look, that's what it's all about. We want to perform like a good side, a together group and perform to the highest level that we can.

“Those moments where you need to dig in, the bit of extra energy that the fans can give us, they felt really well supported and pushed on to the result.”
