Darren Stevens, son of the legendary radio DJ, ‘Tiger’ Tim Stevens, is raising funds for Multiple Sclerosis charities and aiming to raise awareness for the disease. And on August 19, he’ll be shaving his head for charity!

Darren’s dad was diagnosed with MS back in 1987 and has been battling the disease for nearly 40 years.

‘Tiger’ Tim, one of the most popular figures in Scottish broadcasting, continued his radio career for many years after diagnosis, and he has shown incredible strength, resilience, and determination, qualities he draws on every single day while continuing to live with MS.

Darren explains: “Growing up, I remember going to my Dad’s gigs and hearing people make comments about him, assuming he was drunk.

“At that time, MS wasn’t widely understood, and sadly, even today it still feels like there is so much we don’t know. This is especially striking, given that Scotland has one of the highest rates of MS per population in the world.

“This is why I’ve decided to do something that’s well outside my comfort zone. People who know me know I spend a lot of time on my hair.

“My goal isn’t just to raise money, but also to help widen awareness and understanding of MS, and the very real impact it has on individuals and families.”

All the money that Darren raises will be shared equally between Revive MS Support and the MS Society.

These charities do incredible work supporting people living with MS – from local therapy, wellbeing services, and community support that genuinely improve quality of life, to national research, campaigning, and advocacy to change lives for the better.

All donations, no matter how big or small, will be much appreciated by Darren and his dad.
