Benjamin Nygren has started this league campaign with the same sort of form in front of goal that he showed last season, with his goal against Dundee tonight securing all three points for Martin O’Neill’s men.

Dundee proved to be tough opponents for Celtic on several occasions last season, and although the Hoops created a host of chances throughout tonight’s match, it was only Nygren’s headed finish that separated the sides in the end.

Speaking to CelticPlayer after tonight’s game, Nygren reflected on a tough game and on his match winner.

“It was a difficult game.” He said. “We had some chances in the first half and it would be a different game if we had scored earlier.

“That’s how it is sometimes. We also have to respect the opponent, and sometimes you have to wait a bit for the goal.

“We can just try to focus on creating chances and in the end get the goal and get the win.

‘I'm a player who always wants to get on the ball and create chances, not only for myself but for my teammates.’

“I think we created more chances today and we could have scored a few more goals.

“Like I said, that's how it is sometimes, and one goal today was enough.”
