Celtic FC Women are back in action on Sunday afternoon as they make the short trip to face Glasgow City at Petershill Park.

With so much at stake at this stage of the season, it is gearing up to be another hugely important match with three points up for grabs.

However, for Kelsey Daugherty and her team-mates they are simply focused on themselves heading into the game as they aim to continue their ideal start to the post-split fixtures.

After playing her part in the impressive 2-1 win over Rangers two weeks ago, the shot-stopper was delighted with the performance and result, which kick-started the final 10 games of the campaign in perfect style.

Reflecting on the St Patrick’s Day victory, Daugherty believes it was important to get off to that good start with victory in the Glasgow derby, with the chance to make it two wins from two this Sunday.

She said: “Yeah, it was an awesome game to be involved in. I think that sort of performance definitely gave us energy coming into the split after our first game.

‘It was a good performance, and a good result. So what more can you say other than we were really happy!’

“I think it’s super important to get off to that good start in the post-split games. Obviously we started strong in a busy part of the season as well, and then we’ve got Glasgow City now the following match into the split.

“It will be a tough start following the Rangers game, but hopefully a good one!”
