Coming off the back of the international break, it can take any team some time to get back into the swing of things.

However, that certainly wasn’t the case for the Celtic FC Women’s squad who ran out 6-1 winners over Partick Thistle on Sunday afternoon.

Kicking off March at the Excelsior Stadium, it took just five minutes for the Celts to get the scoring underway as Amy Gallacher grabbed her first of the day against the Jags.

Going on to secure a hat-trick, it was another impressive day in front of goal for the Scotland internationalist, and also her team-mates who continued to build momentum under Elena Sadiku.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, Gallacher reflected on another strong showing, expressing how much she enjoys playing in this attacking Hoops side after taking home the match ball.

She said: “It was a great performance. We got plenty of goals under our belt again, managing to get six today. So it was a good performance all round, and good to get the three points.

‘I always say this, but it’s a joy to play in this Celtic team. Obviously the team creates a lot of chances in games.’

“I’m really glad to be able to get the three goals, but most importantly to pick up all three points.

“It’s always a tough game against Partick Thistle. We worked really hard on tactics during the week, getting into Elena’s game plan and the way she wants to play.

“So we are starting to get used to it a lot more now.”
