As one of the most experienced players in the Celtic FC Women’s squad, Natalie Ross is well accustomed to the big occasion wearing the Hoops.

And this weekend is gearing up to be another huge match for the Ghirls as they travel to take on Glasgow City.

This Sunday’s match will be the third outing between the two sides this season, and the Celts’ first visit to Petershill Park of the campaign.

Of course, there have been a number of changes since the last meeting in which Celtic ran out 3-0 winners over their city rivals, following the arrival of new Head Coach, Elena Sadiku.

The Swede will take charge of her first SWPL outing this weekend, after her first full week on the training ground with her squad.

Having worked with Sadiku now for just under two weeks, Ross is now starting to become acclimatised to the new boss, who is eyeing her first win in the dugout.

Speaking to Celtic TV ahead of the Glasgow City game, the Celtic midfielder insisted that she has been left impressed with what she has seen on the training ground after the squad’s hard work during the week.

Ross believes there is a good feeling surrounding the squad and the club as a whole at this moment in time, as the Ghirls look to bounce back to winning ways with another important win.

She said: “It’s been a very good week’s training. I’ve been very impressed with Elena’s sessions, and so have the other girls. The intensity is raised dramatically.

“I think it’s something that we needed, and you can tell that in our play now. One and two touch, we are knocking the ball around really well.

‘There’s a good buzz around the place just now, and we are looking forward to Sunday’s game.’

“Fran did very, very well for this club and took it to where we are now. It’s now a different style of play, and different sessions, which we needed a bit of change.

“The intensity is very short, sharp sessions and like I say, there is an improvement already. The girls are knocking the ball around, playing the style of play that she wants to play.

“There is a really good feeling around the club just now.”

Of course, Sadiku won’t be the only new arrival to be involved in this weekend’s match after Tash Flint made her return to Paradise earlier this week.
