Having achieved many Glasgow derby victories during her time in a Celtic shirt, Natalie Ross is well accustomed to the fixture and what is needed to take home all three points.

After playing her part in the latest outing between the two sides, the midfielder believes the Ghirls were extremely unlucky to come away with just a point.

Facing pressure in the opening quarter-of-an-hour, the Hoops really started to grow into the match as the game went on, with Ross’ composure and experience in the centre of the pitch proving crucial.

Tash Flint’s opener at the beginning of the second half, kick-started what was a brilliant display in the second 45 minutes from the Hoops.

However, after failing to convert some good chances, the Celts were ultimately pegged back with the match ending all square come the end of 90 minutes.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, it was almost a feeling of frustration for Ross, coming away with just a point after a strong performance at Ibrox.

That being said, it was ultimately a pleasing afternoon overall for the squad, who continue to grow as a team under the new management of Elena Sadiku as Ross insisted that performance was for the Celtic support.

She said: “I thought we challenged really well, and I felt as though we deserved to win that match.

“Obviously our fans weren’t here, but we did that for them. Every single one of us fought today, and it was a massive improvement from the last game. So it’s all to play.

“Of course, when you’ve not got your fans here, and it’s just the home fans, it can be quite intimidating.

‘But we never felt that. We grew into the game, and I thought second half we were phenomenal.’

“We created some great, great chances. But just couldn’t convert them. Next time, we will.

“Last time we played against Rangers, we didn’t turn up and we managed to narrowly lose out 3-2.

“So this time, we turned up and we showed that we should have won the game. We feel confident, and we’re happy.

“Yeah, it’s just a point. But it also feels like more than that and our belief is increasing, we are confident and we can’t wait to play them again.”
