It was another win on the road for Celtic FC Women, who made it two wins from two amid what is a busy eight days of action as they ran out 2-0 winners against Motherwell.

Victory over the North Lanarkshire side sealed another first for Elena Sadiku as she picked up her first three points as Hoops Head Coach at K Park.

Two familiar goalscorers got their name on the scoresheet as Caitlin Hayes grabbed the first of the evening with a perfectly placed header from a set-piece.

That was followed up in the second half by Amy Gallacher, who grabbed her 22^nd goal of the campaign, maintaining her fine form in front of goal.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, Sadiku reflected on what was another important three points during what is a busy week for the Ghirls.

Although the Swedish coach was pleased to come away with all three points, there were aspects of the performance she believes her squad could have improved upon.

However, there were still plenty of positives to take away from that, with the players aiming to strive for more under new management.

She said: “Obviously it was very important that we got the three points. We talked to the players after the game, and I’m actually happy that they seem frustrated that we didn’t perform better.

‘That just shows that we are hungry for more. Obviously I think we should have scored more goals overall.’

“We created a number of chances to score, but we are not really happy with some parts of the game that we want to improve for the next game.

“That second goal gave us more comfort in the way that we can take it easy. But we could have scored more goals before that.

“I think that is also where aspects of the frustration comes from, we maybe didn’t finish the chances that we had which would allow us to extend the lead.”
