Scottish Cup weekend is upon us once more as Celtic FC Women gear up for their fourth round tie in the prestigious competition.

The Ghirls travel to face Hamilton Accies on Sunday afternoon, aiming to maintain their fantastic run of form in the tournament, having lifted the trophy on two occasions over the past few seasons.

Last campaign, before reaching the semi-final stage at Hampden Park, the Celts saw off Falkirk, Boroughmuir Thistle and Hearts, on their way to the last four.

One of the players on the losing side for the Jambos in the quarter-finals was Jenny Smith, who started for the Edinburgh side in the Hoops’ 6-1 victory in the capital.

Of course, the midfielder now finds herself wearing green and white, and after seeing the club’s Scottish Cup success in recent years, the 21-year-old is hopeful she can play her part in winning more silverware.

Speaking to Celtic TV ahead of this weekend’s trip to New Douglas Park, Smith insists the squad are determined to bounce back to winning ways in the ideal way, by advancing to the next stage of the Scottish Cup.

She said: “Obviously we won the Scottish Cup last season. I wasn’t with the club at the time, but it would be good to contribute to the girls this season, and help us try to win the cup.

'Of course, we want to win cups and especially with the league, we want to push every game and win every game.'

“Obviously we’ve got a new manager in. The schedule has changed a little, and training has been great.

“We are ultimately just looking to bounce back from the last couple of weeks that we have had.”
