On Sunday May 12, over 11,000 Celtic fans will join current players and legends for a very special event at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro.

The 20th staging of the club’s Player of the Year Awards will be the first time the event has ever been staged at the giant entertainment venue, giving more supporters the opportunity to celebrate the contributions made to Celtic by a host of heroes who have proudly worn the famous green and white hoops.

And hosting the show will be two top presenters with their own affinity for Celtic.

Des Clarke is well known as both a highly successful comedian and as one of television and radio's most respected presenters.

His impressive range of TV presenting credits include The Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony, SM:TV Live, Hogmanay Live and The One Show.

Des is also a much-loved voice on the airwaves, currently waking up Scotland as host of the award-winning Heart Breakfast Show. He also fronts the critically acclaimed Breaking the News on BBC Radio Scotland and returns to again host Celtic’s Player of the Year event in 2024.

Joining Des as co-host is Shebahn Aherne, a familiar face and voice to Celtic fans.

Shebahn is a journalist, broadcaster, pundit and regular presenter on top UK sports platforms, TalkSport and Sky Sports.

Shebahn’s media breakthrough came in Glasgow at Radio Clyde as a presenter on Clyde 1. She has since gone on to find UK recognition in sport hosting DAZN’s coverage of the Women’s UEFA Champions League, WSL coverage on BBC and Sky as well as her regular presenting spots on TalkSport’s Breakfast Show and the Women’s Football Show.

Shebahn has been a passionate champion for women’s football and her own links to Celtic include her twin sister, Ruesha Littlejohn previously playing for Celtic FC Women’s team and also hosting Celtic’s own Celtic TV live matchday shows.

Des and Shebahn’s confirmation as hosts are the first of a number of upcoming announcements about guest award presenters and entertainment for the evening.

The event will bring together club legends, current stars of Celtic’s men’s and women’s first-team squads plus 11,000 Celtic supporters to herald the achievements those players have collectively made to the club’s history over the last 20 years.

The 20th staging of the ceremony promises to be bigger and better than ever, giving supporters the chance to enjoy the annual ceremony in person for the first time in the company of past and present Celtic stars, previous award winners, famous faces and special guests.

The unique ceremony will feature appearances from many of Celtic’s previous Player of the Year awards winners along with famous faces and special guests to celebrate their achievements in the Hoops.

Last year’s ceremony saw Kyogo take home a treble, winning Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and Top Goalscorer awards, while Caitlin Hayes completed a memorable double of Women’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the year – just some of the fantastic honours to be announced at the glittering event.

A maximum of six tickets can be purchased per transaction. The event is suitable for ages 12+ and no concession tickets are available.
