Football can be a very small world, and although there may be a large number of new names for Cummings to acclimatise to in the Celtic squad, there are also some familiar faces.

One of those is Murphy Agnew, who the former San Diego Wave centre-back came up against in the US, as well as in Australia during the Murphy’s spell with the Newcastle Jets.

The Celtic forward has played her part in helping Cummings settle in to life in Glasgow, having gone through a similar journey herself.

“I loved being down in Australia,” Cummings explained. “I think it was a great system, where I was able to work on a lot of the things that I wanted to work on, whilst competing against some of the best players in and coming into the country to play.

“It was a great group of girls. I loved my time down there and I think it helped a lot.”

“It’s always funny when you play against people and you are like sworn enemies, until you are finally team-mates because the football world is so small.

‘Murphy has been great. She has been really helpful in helping me get settled and just giving me little tips.’

“We both also played in Australia, so I think she really understands coming from the college system, to Australia to here.

“So she has been great and I’m looking forward to playing with her.”

The last few years have been a successful time for Fran Alonso and his squad, lifting silverware and competing in competitions such as the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Each component of the side has played a key role, including those in defence who have done a terrific job keeping the ball out of the net.

Giving supporters an insight into what they can expect, Cummings opened up on what she believes are the strongest parts of her game.

The former Western United defender insisted she is looking forward to getting going in the Hoops after joining up with her team-mates this week.

She said: “I feel like I’m pretty aggressive playing out of the back. I’m pretty tall, so I feel like I have a big aerial presence.

'I really just look to play, get the ball out and combine with other people, whilst also trying to keep the ball out the back of the net!'

"I am just really excited to get going. Even the fact that I have a Celtic strip on, I am buzzing. So I am really looking forward to it!

“Obviously we have our first game back this weekend, and we're just looking to build for the rest of the season.”
