On Monday, January 30, the doors of Celtic Park were opened as Celtic FC Foundation hosted its inaugural 'Paradise Pit Stop’ project. Seven months on, and we’ve seen 10,120 hot meals and drinks served to 5,060 individuals.

Paradise Pit Stop has taken place every Monday and Thursday and was initially created to help combat the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, with club and Foundation colleagues on hand to serve up food, provide a warm welcome to all attendees in a non-judgemental environment and help children with homework and other activities such as arts and crafts.

The project has seen colleagues from across the business, including the first team, give up their free time to help those struggling in our local community.

Foundation colleagues have built many new relationships and have been able to offer support across a number of our other projects ranging from dementia care to our Fuel Bank.

Celtic FC Foundation’s Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, said: “It’s vital that we play some part in supporting families and individuals going through challenging times. We recognise the strain on household budgets and we’re trying to alleviate some of that burden.

“We will continue to look at ways in which we can do more and we’re currently working on opening another two lunchtime sittings of Paradise Pit Stop.

“I would encourage anyone, in or out of employment, who could benefit from the project to come along”.
