The duo are a close pairing on and off the pitch, and have been long-serving members of the squad, so the 30-year-old was delighted to set up her team-mate to seal the 1-0 victory.

Set pieces have been a real strength of the Hoops’ in recent times, with the likes of Craig and Clark proving too difficult for defenders to deal with, and that was the case once again in Oslo.

She said: “It’s always good to see anyone get on the scoresheet, but especially Kelly.

'Playing alongside your best friend, it is something that you can only dream of, and being able to set her up for that goal is something that both of us will hold forever.'

“We are good at what we do and we know that,” Craig continued. “So it was just a case of trying to get the ball in the net.

“There wasn’t really any plan or anything like that, but as long as it feel to her feet, and she put it in the back of the net, then job done!”

After kicking off the domestic season in fine form, the Celts carried that confidence into their performance against Brondby.

The Ghirls know just how tough the opposition can be in Europe, having suffered defeat on two occasions during the Club’s first ever venture into the competition.

However, they can certainly take that confidence from recent weeks into each game, including the match against Valerenga this Saturday evening.

Chloe Craig said: “We always know it’s going to be tough going into the Champions League, no matter who it is that you are playing.

“It doesn’t matter what group stage or what round it is. But the way we have started the season has been good and it’s building that confidence, especially with the amount of goals we've scored.

‘But it ultimately just shows you what this team can do. So hopefully we can just continue pushing on.’

“Just like always, Valerenga will be another cup final for us. We have got our heads down, and we will try the victory from that game and then head home to another game on Wednesday night against Hearts.

“So it’s all go, but that is something that we enjoy and we are ready for it.”
