Celtic FC Women have enjoyed a blistering start to the domestic league campaign so far, with five games played and an incredible 34 goals scored as they look to build on last season’s success.

And better yet, they’ve now created history by winning their first UEFA Women’s Champions League match, by defeating Brondby 1-0 in Oslo thanks to a second-half goal from captain, Kelly Clark.

Their impressive run of form is the reward for an intense pre-season warm weather training camp in Gran Canaria, which saw the Ghirls putting in the work at the Hotel Cordial Mogan Playa resort on the island.

The Ghirls have enjoyed the partnership with Cordial – the club’s official holiday and resorts partner - since 2020, with this year’s pre-season preparations marking their third trip to the Canaries.

Speaking about the importance of preparing well for the 2023/24 season, Celtic FC Women’s team captain, Kelly Clark said: “We are really grateful for the relationship with Cordial that we've cultivated over the past few years, it’s played such a big part in our progression as a professional outfit since way back in 2020.

“The hotel was amazing, the staff are really helpful and it was just the perfect location for us to spend time during pre-season, working hard but also getting to know each other as a group. To be in that environment together was invaluable.

“We had a brilliant opportunity to test ourselves against top opposition in the Cordial International Tournament during our stay, but it was just as great to relax together in such a beautiful hotel, allowing us to not only recover properly but to get in some relaxation before we got the demands of the new season underway”.
