“I think everyone that plays a derby, and I have played a few in Sweden, you forget everything that happened before and you have full focus on that game and give everything to win.

“For me, it’s been a hectic few weeks with new information, new names and people to know.

“But it's feeling better every day and alongside our new players we will grow stronger every day.'

“Training in the last few days has been good so we are all looking forward to Sunday.”

It’s been a strange start for Lagerbiekle to his Celtic career as he goes in search of his first victory in the Hoops.

That expectation to win every week is something the defender embraces, and it’s that pressure which was a factor in making him want to sign for the Hoops.

“I knew that Celtic is a great club with great expectations before I signed,” he said.

'The players and the fans expect to win. That’s the mind-set that we have.'

“It’s been disappointing with the last two results to not win but we can only look forward now to the next game and give our all to win.”

So far, the 23-year-old has played alongside both Maik Nawrocki and Liam Scales in his two games, and the arrival of a new central defender in Nat Phillips has boosted that area of the team.

The Liverpool central defender arrived on loan until January and Lagerbielke is excited to work with him and believes he will be a strong addition to the team.

He added: “I have spoken to him and he looks like a great player. He has played for good clubs so I look forward to getting to know him as a player and a person.

“Every player wants to play and it’s good to have that competition inside a team.

“It gets everyone better every day and keeps you on your toes so it’s something I’m looking forward to.”
