It is set to be another busy international break for Fran Alonso’s Celtic squad, with more players receiving recognition for their performances at the start of the campaign.

A total of nine players are preparing to head off and join up with their nations at senior and youth levels, in competitive and friendly action.

Following her first two outings for the Republic of Ireland, which included scoring on her second appearance in a victory over Hungary, Caitlin Hayes has once again been called up to Eileen Gleeson’s squad.

After making the perfect start to their Nations League campaign, Hayes and her team-mates will be aiming to maintain their 100 per cent record as they prepare for a double-header against Albania.

Fellow defender Sydney Cummings will also join up with her national team as Guyana continue their Gold Cup qualification campaign.

Arriving at the Hoops last month, the 24-year-old will be aiming to pick up more caps for her country as they take on Suriname in their own double-header.

Similar to Hayes, after receiving her first call-up for Scotland during the last international break, Amy Gallacher has maintained her place in Pedro Martinez Losa’s squad.

She will be joined by Hoops midfielder Jenny Smith, who will be involved in her first senior Scotland squad as the side face off against The Netherlands.

At under-19 level for Scotland, Tiree Burchill and Clare Goldie got their European Championship qualifying campaign off and running with a fixture against Iceland on Tuesday morning.

The Celtic duo both played from the start, with Burchill even getting on the scoresheet in the second half. However, the young Scottish side suffered a 6-2 defeat to start the international break.

They will quickly have the chance to bounce back, with two more fixtures over the course of the next six days against Serbia and Belarus, starting on Friday.

Having achieved success for her nation at under-17 level at the World Cup last October, Paula Partido earned another call-up to the Spanish under-19 squad.

After winning the 2023 European Championships, Partido and the squad will begin qualification for next summer’s tournament this week in taking on Turkey, Sweden and Portugal as they look to make it back-to-back tournament wins.

Finally, both Shen Mengyu and Shen Menglu have been called-up to the latest China squad that will take part in qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games.

The Hoops duo will face off against North Korea, Thailand and South Korea following their well-deserved international call-ups for this month’s break.
