It may still be less the 24 hours since the Celts tasted victory against Glasgow City, but the focus of the Celtic squad has already shifted on to the next match.

Following more late heroics at the Excelsior Stadium on Thursday evening, the Ghirls are quickly back in action in Airdrie this Sunday as they take on Motherwell.

Of course, naturally, with all the adrenaline that goes into such a huge fixture, emotions are still high for the players and the coaching staff after a terrific victory, particularly for the scorer of the game’s opening goal, Chloe Craig, who helped put the Hoops on their way to three points.

Speaking to Celtic TV ahead of this Sunday's game against Motherwell, she said:“I feel as if I’m still feeling the emotions from last night’s (Thursday) game. It was a great game for us.

“Glasgow City made it difficult. Obviously they are a good team but what we have worked on in training helped us on the night.

“Of course, it’s always good to be on the scoresheet but it is team game at the end of the day, it’s not just about those individual moments.

'Overall, I was just proud and honoured to be able to get myself a goal.'

“I think pushing on and getting that late goal shows the character of the team and the players as a whole.

“We never give up and we never stop fighting. It just shows the belief and the confidence that we have in each other to keep on pushing until the 90 minutes are up.”

“Sometimes we maybe make it hard for ourselves, but it just shows our character that we will always come out on top. We play for each other right until the very end.”

Although Thursday night’s result was one Craig very much enjoyed, her focus swiftly switched to the next match.
