Arriving during the summer as one of nine new recruits to join Fran Alonso’s squad, Kelsey Daugherty headed to Glasgow without much expectation ahead of her move.

However, now four months into her Celtic career, the goalkeeper has fully immersed herself as a Hoops player and has produced some massive moments between the sticks.

As the Ghirls gear up for their return to action at the Excelsior Stadium, the goalkeeper sat down with the media ahead of Sunday’s game against Aberdeen.

Reflecting on her time with the Celts so far, the shot-stopper praised the Celtic support for the way they have welcomed her to the club as she discussed the differences between playing in countries such as Sweden and Norway, compared to Scotland.

She said: "I’d say the weather is probably similar, so I’ve become used to that at least! I think Scotland is a bit less direct in transition, than it is in some of the Scandinavian leagues.

“So that is the main difference I would say, and then the Celtic support does make a big difference compared to other clubs I’ve been with as well.

'The supporters are incredible. We have got a big group of fans who are there no matter what. Whether that be home or away, rain or shine.'

“And you can just really feel the support, win, lose or draw. They are there, and they are cheering us on and supporting. It’s been great really.”

After keeping her eighth clean sheet of the campaign during last weekend’s victory over Hamilton Accies, Daugherty is looking forward to being back in action once more in front of the supporters, as the Celts welcome the Dons to Airdrie.
