After a period of 15 months on the sidelines, Celtic FC Women’s goalkeeper Chloe Logan made her return to action against Partick Thistle on Sunday.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper has spent over a year out through injury, and only recently returned to the Hoops matchday squad back in March.

This past weekend, she marked her full return, being named in the starting line-up for the Celts' match-up against Thistle, and more notably it was on same pitch she had sustained her serious injury on.

Although it was far from the ideal overall performance, Logan was delighted to play her part in securing all three points in dramatic fashion on her return.

She said: “I don’t think the performance was where we wanted it to be and where we think it should be.

'But at the end of the day we got three points and well take it and we will build from that.'

“I am obviously delighted to get some minutes,” she continued. “Pamela Tajonar has been incredible for us this season, so I am just glad to play my part in a different way this week.

“It’s been 15 months since I’ve done that, after getting injured on this pitch (Petershill Park), so it was nice to be back out on the pitch, but it was a pretty stressful game to come into and be involved in.”

Throughout the 90 minutes, the Celtic goalkeeper didn’t have too much to do in the way of goalmouth action.

However, when she was called upon in the latter stages of the match, Logan produced a massive double save, which ultimately led to all three points for Fran Alonso and his side.

Reflecting on a huge moment in the game, the Hoops number one believes she maybe could have done slightly better at the time. But it was a hugely important save, at a crucial stage in the match.

She said: “I think I’ll need to watch it back, maybe I was a wee bit slow to come off my line. I shouldn’t have to make the save in the first place in that sense.

'Ultimately, I am just happy to play my part in getting the three points!'

With just three games left in the SWPL this campaign, the Ghirls face another hugely important match this Thursday evening (May.

And it doesn’t come under much bigger circumstances, as the Celts prepare to take on league leaders Glasgow City at Celtic Park.

Logan is well aware that the Hoops will need to raise their levels of performance, but it is an occasion she and the rest of the Celtic squad are looking forward too.

She said: “It’s always incredible to get the opportunity to play at Celtic Park in front of all of our fans.

'It is a massive game against Glasgow City. So it’s going to be a really important one for us.'

“I think if we put in a performance like we did on Sunday, then it’s going to be even more challenging going up against another top side.

“So we need to pick ourselves up, recover properly and go again on Thursday night.
