Celtic FC’s B Team coach, Darren O’Dea, is the next special guest to be announced for the unique event planned for Thursday, May 18. A Night With Scott Brown and Mikael Lustig is being held at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow.

The Irish internationalist started his playing career at Celtic, making 49 appearances, before moving on to the likes of Leeds United, Ipswich Town, Toronto FC and Dundee. Darren finished his playing career at East Kilbride and then moved to Motherwell, where he was appointed to a coaching position.

The former Celtic defender has been back coaching with the Hoops since 2019 when he became the Under-19s’ manager, then taking the role of Celtic B Team coach – alongside Stephen McManus - at the start of season 2021/22.

Having played with Scott Brown for a total of five seasons, Darren formed a close bond with the former Celtic captain, which remains to this day.

He said: “It was honour to play with Broony for five years and I was continually in awe of his passion, commitment, talent and leadership. He’s also a top man off the field and I can’t wait to catch up with him at the Hydro.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Mikael Lustig too as I have so much respect and admiration for him, particularly the contribution he made and what he achieved during his time at Celtic.

“It’s going to be a brilliant night on May 18 and the banter will be first class, as we celebrate two legends of the club and also honour the magnificent achievements of Ange Postecoglou and the current squad.”
