Hayes scored a double in the 3-0 win earlier in the campaign, before adding a dramatic late equaliser in the most recent game between the two sides in a 1-1 draw.

The English central defender is hopeful that she can add to that run of scoring, but ultimately, the three points are the most important thing in the Celts’ quest for silverware.

“I’d like to say I hope so, but I’m not going to put that pressure of scoring again on myself,” she said.

“We have played Rangers enough times this season to know what to expect and know what it’s going to be like.

'But as it always is, it will be a big occasion and I just can’t wait to play the game with my team-mates.'

“It’s a good stat I guess. But at the end of the day I’m not focused on that. As long as the team gets the three points, it's job done in my eyes.

“So if I can help the team in that way, then I’ll be there to provide. But if not, I’m happy no matter who puts the ball in the back of the net.”

With the season coming to a close this month, the Hoops have an extremely busy end to the campaign, with several huge fixtures over the next few weeks.

Although that can take its toll on the squad, Hayes believes that Fran Alonso’s squad has terrific depth, which has Celtic set up for their up-and-coming fixtures.

She said: “Obviously playing this amount of games in a short space of time can be demanding physically, but thankfully, we have a good squad and depth.

“Mentally, it can be draining. There’s no other way to go about it, it can be very taxing on your body but also your mind.

"Thankfully, we have a good coaching staff that manage to weave around the obstacles that we are going to face. So we just continue to press on, and hopefully reap the rewards of our performances.”
