Celtic will host Hibernian tomorrow (Saturday) knowing that they fully delivered that last time the Edinburgh side visited the East End of Glasgow with a 6-1 victory back in October in the first meeting between the clubs this term.

Just to show that was no fluke amid the home comforts of Celtic Park, the Hoops finished off the calendar year of 2022 with a trip to Easter Road on December 28 and a 4-0 win was celebrated by the fans who made the trip back along the M8 that night.

By any measure, 10 goals in two games against a fellow top-six side is some going, but the Celts are taking nothing for granted going into tomorrow’s game and that was verified by Portuguese star, Jota as he spoke to the media before the teams go head-to-head again.

The winger said: “I’ve been in football long enough to understand that every game is different so I don’t know if it’s going to be the same again - we don’t think like that.

‘Teams have different approaches in every game, and we don’t adapt with the others, we just stick with our principles and our philosophy of the game.’

“So that’s what we are going to do and I hope we can deliver the result in the end.”

It’s an encounter he is relishing ahead of the international break, but he and his team-mates aren’t looking too far ahead to an enticing batch of games once the domestic action restarts.

He said: “We look forward to this game like we look forward to the other games, so it will be another one for us to go on and compete, and be the best version that we can be, so I’m definitely happy to go again and compete.

“We are mainly focused on the next game, and the next game will be against Hibs.

“Of course, we know what our goals and our objectives are for the season. But we’re not there yet, so we’ll need to keep on winning games and developing, so that’s what we want to do.

“Every game is a different game, there are exciting times ahead for sure because this is the last run of the season but, as I said before, I think we just need to focus on the next game.

“So we are just happy to be in a good position and we go again.”
