Celtic FC Women midfielder, Lisa Robertson praised the squad’s ability to score from all over the pitch, after playing her part in both of the Hoops’ goals during the 2-0 win over Hibernian on Sunday.

It was another successful trip to the capital for Fran Alonso and his squad, with first-half goals from Amy Gallacher and Caitlin Hayes helping secure all three points.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the match, Robertson was happy to put the previous weekend’s loss to Glasgow City behind her and was delighted to help the squad to another three points.

She said: “It was a well-deserved three points. We had a bit of a slow start, Hibs came out with a game plan and pressed us.

‘After 10 minutes, we got our first goal and that calmed us down and then led to the second goal, which I thought we deserved.’

“Second half probably wasn’t our best performance, but I thought we controlled it and we saw the game out. We got the three points, and that’s what we came here to do.

“It’s never great to lose a game of football. We were lucky that the next game comes just a week later, so we can put a few wrongs right.

“And we did that today. We’ve got three points and are now back to winning ways!”

Having scored 107 goals competitively so far this season, the Celts have showcased their ability to score a variety of strikes across the pitch.

Both of the goals in Sunday’s win against Hibs, came from corners, with Robertson’s pin-point crosses into the box being turned home.

The Scotland internationalist was pleased to see the hard work on set-plays on the training ground pay off.

“We can score from all over the pitch, which we’ve shown throughout the course of the season,” she said.

“Obviously today (Sunday), both goals come from set-plays and that is something we take great pride in and we practice every week.

“It’s good to see that in the last few weeks more and more goals are coming from set-plays, because it’s a huge part of the game.”

After seeing off Hibs, the Celts can now look forward to next weekend’s Scottish Cup quarter-final tie against Hearts.

Currently, Celtic are the holders of the trophy and they will be looking to reach the last four stage by defeating another opponent from the capital.

It’s a tournament Robertson loves to take part in, and the squad are excited to prepare for an exciting clash.

She said: “Everyone loves the Scottish Cup. We’ll be back in Edinburgh next week against Hearts. So we’ll go and prepare properly, rest for the next couple of days and then we will look forward to the cup tie.”
