Celtic FC Women booked their place in the final of the Glasgow Cup on Wednesday evening, after beating Partick Thistle 4-0 at the Excelsior Stadium, thanks to a double from Caitlin Hayes and two well-taken strikes from Chloe Craig and Natalie Ross.

The Hoops started the game on the front foot and Kit Loferski tried her luck with a powerful effort inside the area, but it was well-saved by the Thistle goalkeeper.

However, it didn’t take long for the Hoops to get off the mark, with Caitlin Hayes heading the ball home from a cross into the box in the 12th minute.

And it wasn't long before the Ghirls doubled their advantage, with Chloe Craig on target this time, volleying the ball home from inside the area.

Shen Menglu was causing the Thistle defence plenty of problems down the flanks, while Loferski came close to extending Celtic's lead just before the break.

That third goal did come just after the hour mark and, again, it was Caitlin Hayes on target, heading home again from close-range.

And making her Celtic debut, Argentinian defender, Luana Munoz came close on a number of occasions from set-pieces to scoring.

With the game all but wrapped up, Fran Alonso was able to make a number of changes to the side, introducing new signing Ceyla Barclais, along with a number of Academy and Natalie Ross.

And the experienced midfielder, who recently signed a new three-year deal with the club, completed the scoring with a powerful strike from the edge of the area to make it 4-0 for Fran Alonso's side.

The Ghirls' first competitive run out of the campaign proved to be a successful one, with the victory sealing a place in the final of the Glasgow Cup this Saturday (July 29), where they will take on Rangers at Broadwood Stadium.
