The Celtic players experienced the first full day in Japan on their tour of the Far East country and it was also a superb day for the locals that call Celtic their club.

A special event took place with Adidas at the Nissan Stadium on Tuesday, the home to Yokohama F. Marinos and the venue where Celtic will take on the J-League side in their first friendly match on Wednesday.

The five Celtic players from Japan, Tomoki Iwata, Yuki Kobayashi, Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi and Reo Hatate – sporting the new third kit – sat down inside the stadium for an audience with Japanese supporters and a huge following of national and local media.

They were also joined by an extremely special guest in Shunsuke Nakamura who took part in the fan Q&A session, where those in attendance took the opportunity to ask the burning questions to their Celtic heroes.

It was also a special moment for 50 young aspiring Hoops players, as the kids from the local Celtic Soccer Academy had their pictures taken with the six players.

Following that, it was on to the pitch for training, as Brendan Rodgers put the team through their paces ahead of Wednesday’s match which is live on Celtic TV.

At the end of the session, the lucky fans still inside the stadium had the opportunity get their Celtic tops signed by the first-team squad, in what will be an extremely memorable day for the local fans.
