“When we lost the ball our reaction was fantastic so credit to them and they deserve the win.

“There was never a moment where we were trying to see the game out, we were trying to score more and we should have.

“We created loads of chances in the second-half and Ben Quinn could have had a hat-trick in that half, he was just a bit unlucky.

“But certainly our boys were excellent including the substitutes that came on.”

The result makes it five wins from their last six as the Bhoys continue their march up the table.

It’s in these good moments in which the coaching staff of Darren O’Dea and Stephen McManus look to see the team’s character, and so far they have been impressed with the way they have continued their momentum with each passing fixture.

O’Dea added: “That’s the key to trying to be successful in anything that when you have a tiny taste of success do you enjoy it or chase down more.

'That’s the key message to them now, they’re in a good space but we’re nowhere near where we want to be and these lads want to be playing for Celtic and they’ve a long way to go to doing that.'

“At the minute they’re certainly doing their chances no harm and all they can do is rest up and they will come in on Monday and we will work even harder.”

It’s been a promising period in front of goal for striker Joey Dawson who has notched six in his last three games and O’Dea has been thrilled with his performances.

He added: “Two of them were off the bench against Rangers, so it just shows you that the moral of the story is you don’t know when your opportunity is going to come but as long as you’re ready to take it.

“Joey has made it that we can’t leave him out of the team. He needs to maintain his standards and the ones below need to keep pushing and that’s been key all season, we’ve had a fantastic training environment so to just be on the pitch you need to earn it.

“Joey has certainly earned it and he’s in great form and hopefully he can keep that going.”
