Following another emphatic victory for the Celtic FC Women squad on Sunday afternoon, the Ghirls took their goal tally for the season to an impressive 80 goals in 15 games.

A strong second half performance saw the Hoops run out 7-0 winners against Spartans, with six different players getting on the scoresheet.

That has been one of the most pleasing aspects of the Celtic squad for Fran Alonso, seeing the goals spread across the squad.

From defenders to forwards, the goals seem to be coming from all over the pitch, including for Academy graduate Clare Goldie.

After grabbing her first senior goal for the club earlier this season against Spartans in the capital, the midfielder has now gone on to score two goals in her last two appearances in green and white.

Coming off the bench to play her part in another victory, the 18-year-old spoke to Celtic TV in the aftermath of the match.

Playing at a mature level well above her age, the midfielder insisted it was an enjoyable performance to play a part in. After adding her second goal in as many matches, Goldie also stated that is an aspect she is always looking to add to.

She said: “Yeah, it was good to be involved in that performance! Especially once we got going as a squad in the second half.

‘I think it was a really enjoyable game, and the full team played well.’

“I think probably before I would say that I want to add more goals to my game. So to get two goals in two games, it’s good for your confidence.
