Celtic FC Women players and coaches paid a special visit to the G20 Youth Project in Wyndford, taking part in a training session and leading a discussion on inspiring young women to follow their aspirations.

Alongside coaches from Celtic FC Foundation, with the support from shared sponsor Intelligent Car Leasing, the G20 Youth Project event proved to be a memorable experience for all involved.

G20 Youth Project’s mission is to allow young people who have experienced significant life trauma access safe spaces and the Arts, whilst providing opportunities for work, training, personal development, and fun.

The project aims to create a trauma responsive community where young people are included, heard, valued and supported in the society in which they live.

The event kicked off with a group training session from Celtic FC Foundation coaches, alongside Celtic FC Women players, Maria McAneny, Chloe Craig and Caitlin Hayes. Head coach Fran Alonso and assistant coach David Haley also led team talks and played in a match with the group.

Celtic FC Women player, Chloe Craig said: "This has been a fantastic opportunity for us show our support for the local community.

'The work that the G20 Youth Project does is outstanding and we’re all grateful to have been a part of this event, meet the organisers and the girls who attend the project.'

"Having the Celtic FC Women’s team come to our community and inspire local girls is huge and will plant a seed for our girls locally and raise aspirations.

"This event has shown what’s possible for young girls. Young people need to have access to positive role models, activities and support so that they can go on to a positive future and this event has done that.”

With charity being an integral part of the club, Celtic FC Women continue to show their support for projects across Glasgow.

The G20 Youth project is based in Ruchill for 10-16 year olds, and the G20 Workspace is situated in the Wyndford area for those aged 16-25.
