It was a determined, disciplined and ultimately decisive performance from the Celtic B team which delivered a 3-1 derby win over Rangers at Ibrox.

Despite going a goal down early in the match, the Hoops battled back to level just before the break through Ben Quinn and score to further goals in the second-half through Quinn again and Adam Brooks against a Rangers side that ended the match with just eight players.

It was the home side who opened the scoring after 17 minutes when Aaron Lyall produced a powerful strike which gave Hoops goalkeeper Josh Clarke no chance.

It was a rare opportunity in a first-half of few chances, but just before the interval, Rangers received the first of their three red cards when goalkeeper Lewis Budinauckas was judged to have handled the ball outside the area.

With Celtic now having a numerical advantage, they pressed forward in search of an equaliser which came in first-half stoppage time.

A cross in from the right by Bruno Davidson made its way to the back post, where Ben Quinn showed great commitment to force the ball home.

After scoring late on in the first half, Celtic came out after the break determined to score more goals, and just 10 minutes into the second-half the Bhoys took the lead.

Quinn was once again on the scoresheet, smashing the ball into the bottom corner of the net after a clearance had made its way to the winger’s feet.

Just four minutes later, the Celts looked to be well on their way to three points as Adam Brooks extended Celtic's lead. The forward picked up a good position in the box, and got a touch on a low cross into the box, which looped over the substitute goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

Celtic continued to showcase their second half dominance and opportunities from Bosun Lawal and Mackenzie Carse came close to adding more goals to the scoresheet.

With the young Hoops keeping the ball so well, the home side’s frustrations were beginning to show, and just past the hour mark, midfielder Bailey Rice was given his marching orders for a second yellow card offence.

And in the dying stages, Rangers were then further reduced to eight man after Adam Devine was sent off for a late challenge on Matthew Anderson.

Three goals would be more than enough for Celtic to take home another fantastic three points in the Glasgow derby, defeating their rivals for the third time this season, and leapfrogging them into second place in the Lowland League.
