Celtic FC will receive support for a Foundation project which will assist displaced children and families during the ongoing Ukrainian humanitarian crisis.

Following approval by ECA’s Ukraine Relief Committee, Celtic was chosen to be passed to the UEFA Foundation for Children for final validation and receive assistance for the project.

Celtic are one of 15 member Clubs, including upcoming UEFA Champions League opponents FC Shakhtar Donetsk, who received support from the aid programme.

We are experiencing one of the largest refugee crises in recent times with an estimated 6.6 million people forced to leave their homes and over 11,000 Ukrainian refugees arriving in Scotland.

The Club and Celtic FC Foundation have been actively working with refugees from all walks of life in Scotland for many years, including recently supporting the Scottish Refugee Council with a £10k donation from the Football For Good Fund.

And Celtic FC Foundation is now delighted to announce the launch of a bespoke project for Ukrainian families and children offering support for mental health, physical wellbeing and social integration, all to be delivered within Celtic Park.

“We’ve supported refugees from across the world for some time now and this will allow us to focus in on one particular group, and help them integrate into the country.

“Refugees are welcome here. Celtic is famous for being a club open to all and this is a great example of that we look forward to kicking this off in October.”
