Speaking to Celtic TV, he said: "Everyone knows it’s a difficult place to come to and Livingston make it difficult for every opposition to come here.

"It’s hard to control the game, be dominant and score goals. We got three and could have had a couple more and you need a strong mentality to do that and the boys showed that today.

"Aside from the results which are important, the performances have been really strong.

'We’re scoring goals and dominating games and that’s the pleasing bit.'

"We’ve had Europe in between which is challenging in itself and the fact the boys can back it up and not let it affect our league form and performances is pleasing."

A century of games for Greg Taylor and another goal for the left-back this season against Livingston, the manager has been pleased with the full-backs development since he joined last summer.

He added: "He’s doing really well, he's working hard and wants to improve every day.

"With all of our players the pleasing thing for me is that they’re always improving and that’s what we want, to not put a limit on the type of player they can be.

"He’s scoring goals which is great and I’m pleased for him."

Next up, a trip to face Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

While the Celts can not progress in Europe beyond Christmas, the game at the Santiago Bernabeu is another opportunity for the team to test themselves against Europe's elite.

Looking forward to the tie, the manager said: "We will go there and test ourselves as we have done through this whole campaign.

"It’s about the experiences we have and you only get to maximum those if you don’t go into your shell.

'We can go there and fear what the outcome may be or we can go and play our football and see where we go.'

"hat’s what we’ve done so far in the Champions League, we know we’ve fallen short in a few areas and we want to improve that but at the same time the pleasing thing for me is the players are going out and testing themselves and we will do that on Wednesday night."
