Celtic Soccer Academy are delighted to start the countdown to their 2023 International Coaches Convention by hosting a coach education taster evening, delivered by U18’s manager Stuart McLaren.

This sample event will take place at Lennoxtown on the 1^st of November, running from 6-9pm. This event is being run in partnership with the Scottish FA and is open to all.

For those with UEFA/Scottish FA License holders, this will provide 3hrs of CPD.

The topic for the evening will be Counterpressing, a key theme of defensive play throughout Celtic’s squads. Key points that will be discussed are:

The difference between pressing and counter-pressing
Key principles of counter-pressing
Designing sessions to implement counter-pressing

The night will kick off with a short networking session followed by a theoretical presentation by Stuart McLaren on the chosen topic. Following this will attendees will head outdoors for a practical session where spectators will be able to see some of the methods used by Stuart to implement the counter-press with the U18 team.
